Jobing Description
Seeking an attorney to provide legal services regarding regulatory and government affairs, and market conduct compliance for UnitedHealth Group's licensed health insurers and HMOs operating in the individual market in the United States. The position will require analysis of proposed legislative and regulatory action affecting the individual health insurance market in all states, frequent interaction with state and federal insurance regulators, and periodic travel.
Experience working in or representing clients in a highly regulated industry (insurance, banking, telecommunications, utilities, etc.) preferred.
Experience working with legislators and regulators on health insurance matters preferred.
Experience in administrative rulemaking and judicial proceedings at the state and/or federal level preferred.
- Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
- Works with less structured, more complex issues.
- Serves as a resource to others.
Skills / Requirements
5 +years experience practicing law required
5 + years in a law firm representing health insurers and HMOS in legislative and regulatory matters, as an in-house attorney working for a licensed health insurer or HMO, or as a government attorney representing an insurance agency at the state or federal level prefered
Law degree (Juris Doctor) required and admission to practice before the courts in the state of Indiana or admission to practice law in another state with the willingness to seek and obtain admission to practice law in the state of Indiana..
