Jobing Description

The Key Account Manager would spend his or her time nurturing and trying to strengthen current relationships. Tasks would include contacting partners or vendors to identify potential opportunities to expand relationships (joint email campaigns, new Web creative, new landing pages, brochures, direct mail campaigns, phone campaigns, etc.).


The other portion of his or her time would be devoted to prospecting for new opportunities. Tasks would include working the phones to talk to UnitedHealthcare account executives. Developing UHC relationships will generate opportunities to piggyback on current Employer accounts that might need individual insurance for portions of their account base. The Key Account Manager would also speak to organizations that might want to help market our products to their client base.


  • Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and builds business by creating a new network of strategic partners and vendors.

  • Maintains and expands relationships with existing partners and vendors by providing support, information and guidance. Researches and recommends new opportunities.

  • Converses regularly with contacts at UnitedHealthcare and other strategic relationship partners.

  • Identifies business opportunities by cultivating prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researches and analyzes sales options.

  • Develops and gains agreement on annual joint business plan that aligns our objectives and strategies and with partners' objectives and strategies.

  • Researches, prospects and develops interest within targeted accounts or new accounts, manages the sales process, and ultimately brings opportunities to a close.

  • Works closely with Marketing Projects Manager to fulfill promises made to partners and confirm completion of key deliverables.



  • Skills / Requirements

    1-3 years of sales/sales mgt or account management experience in the insurance industry required.
    Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
    Ability for nationwide travel, 2-5 days per month
    Life Health License required.
    Person will be based in Indianapolis office
