3M is seeking a Manufacturing- Process Engineer for our facility in Hartford City, IN. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not excluded to:
* All aspects of process performance, capabilities and quality.
* Resolution of equipment and process issues to ensure reliable operation.
* Responsible for implementation of new and/or modified processes and equipment.
* Measure, report, and improve key performance metrics for assigned processes: Operating efficiency (OEE/CEE), rates, process yield, equipment runtime and downtime.
* Measure and improve Cpk and Ppk on key process variables, develop and implement programs to reduce process variability, and work with Product Engineers to improve 4-Sigma performance of products.
* Assure process safety on process changes, operational safety procedures, and materials.
* Assist production in resolving safety issues, developing safety procedures and materials.
* Participate in PHA's for covered processes, and assure accuracy of technical manuals.
* Provide support to Production and Plant Engineering on daily operational issues.
* Resolve customer quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Responsible for implementation of new and/or modified product and material qualifications to standardization.
* Responsible for measuring, reporting, and improving key performance metrics: Unit cost for assigned products, product throughput yield, H&Q inventory, product capability, customer satisfaction.
* Assist Production in developing and implementing product and quality training.
* Actively utilize Six Sigma and statistical tools for improving processes.
Travel: Minimal travel required, 10% of the time
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree
* Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
* Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
* Lean Manufacturing Principles
* Good communications skills, both written and verbal
* Works well in a team environment
* Experience leading and/or participating on cross functional teams
* PLC Control Systems experience
