We are looking for a talented
Manufacturing Test Engineer to
contribute to JDSU s continued
success. As a member of the Cable
Networks Business Unit within the
Communications Test & Measurement
Division, you will work closely
with Operations and R&D to bring
high quality and reliable products
to market. In this position, you
are not joining just any group or
company, JDSU s Cable Networks
Business Unit is number one,
globally, in developing and selling
cable test instruments and systems
into cable operators.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Define and architect automated
systems for product configuration,
Calibration, and verification for
manufacturing and service.
-Develop and implement
manufacturing test plans for new
products.
-In conjunction with the other
organizations within CND, deliver
product and projects on time, at or
below development budget, at or
below unit production cost target,
and conforming to specifications.
-Develop, implement and maintain
production databases.
-Provide support and enhancement of
current production test systems.
-Maintain a database of known
production issues and work with
Engineering to classify each
problem s severity and criticality
and develop an action plan to
resolve.
-Apply SPC methods and data mining
in manufacturing and provide data
back into engineering to further
improve yield and make
recommendations to improve product
designs.
-Manage the use of contractors,
consultants, subcontractors, and
OEMs to supplement internal skills
-Perform other reasonably related
duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications -BSET, BSEE, or BSCS required with
advanced technical degree
desirable.
-Solid understanding of the
communications industry and
underlying technologies is required
-A minimum of 2 years of required experience , 5+ years experience preferred.
in network equipment or
communications test product
development.
-Demonstrated project management
skills in test systems development.
-Proficiency in program automation
languages including one or more of
the following: C, C++, LabView,
LabWindows, Visual Basic, Java,
etc.
-Experience with manual and
automated use of basic and RF
laboratory and test instrumentation
-Database experience a plus, such
as MySQL, MS SQL, and/or Oracle
-RF and/or Wireless experience a
plus.
-Lean / Six Sigma experience
strongly desired.
-Experience in off-shore
manufacturing a plus.
-Ability to speak Spanish is a
plus.
-High urgency, high energy level
process oriented disciplined
professional.
