Description

The primary purpose is to serve as the local contact for employees relative to human resource issues. Job responsibilities encompass a range of activities from employee relations to employee recruitment, selection and training.

Position Requirements

Identify appropriate areas from which to recruit hourly and salary applicants and recruit applicants as needed to fill open positions utilizing current HR systems.

Coordinate and administer appropriate pre-employment tests and drug screening, score tests, and conduct initial interview with applicants as needed.

Identify top candidates for employment and make appropriate recommendations to management.

Conduct new employee orientation including facility tour. Administer basic safety training for new employees.

Coordinate, monitor and track employee training and development needs utilizing all current training methods available. Evaluate and implement new training programs as necessary.

Develop and administer employee internal complaint procedure and peer review forums as necessary. Hear and respond to employee complaints and concerns. Maintain a process which is fair and balanced.

Provide coaching and counseling to employees and management to foster a more open, communicative employee relations environment and to encourage a more positive work environment. Assist in the development of creative solutions to workplace problems.

Plan, develop and maintain programs to enhance employee relations. These could include but are not limited to employee outings, employee recognition or fun competitions aimed at maintaining or improving employee morale.

Coordinate, analyze, publish and maintain all plant and corporate communications. This could include O Neal news articles, bulletin boards, corporate announcements, employee surveys and other literature.

Coordinate with corporate to plan and organize meetings and activities related to medical plan rollouts, 401K, United Way, Livesmart and other current programs.

Assist in manpower planning. Coordinate with department managers as needed.

Maintain and secure personnel files. This could include but is not limited to: application, resume, training documentation, vacations, performance reviews, awards / recognition or disciplinary actions.

Track and analyze key HR metrics such as turnover, training hours and headcount trends. Generate reports and charts for monthly management meetings.

Monitor Affirmative Action Plans and take steps necessary to meet and hopefully exceed goals defined in the plan.

Monitor the salary and wage administration system to ensure fairness and internal equity. Monitor the effectiveness and fairness of the employee performance appraisal process. Ensure that the process is completed within the time window required.

Conduct exit interview with all resigning employees. Fill out appropriate forms and document as required.

Coordinate, lead and support all legal initiatives such as unemployment hearings or EEOC audits.

Coordinate the development of human resource policies and procedures as needed for implementation at the plant level. Work with Corporate Human Resources to be certain all policies and procedures confirm to corporate guidelines.

Quality responsibility: Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Educational Requirements

To qualify for consideration an applicant must possess the following skills. Possession of these skills is a prerequisite for employment.

Possess a degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience.

Converse fluently in the English language.

The following skills are considered important to this position but may be learned on the job. Applicants will not be eliminated from consideration if they do not possess these skills.

Certified Zenger Miller trainer.

Certified Total Quality Management trainer.

ISO 9002 auditor/trainer.

Familiarity with personal computers and software (Microsoft Office, etc.)
