Timpte, Inc. has been serving the transportation business since 1884 and is the industry leader in the manufacture and supply of bulk commodity semi-trailers. Timpte is currently looking for 3 Trailer Technicicans
for its NEWEST Customer Care Center near Indianapolis, IN . Pay for this position will be $20.50-23.50/hour, after 60 days $0.50 increase!!

  • This position is Mon-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 pm. No Weekends.

Job Function:

To diagnose, repair and service trailers of all brands in a safe and professional manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Welding steel and aluminum

  • Replace or repair damaged panels, rails, and traps

  • Perform trailer alignments and adjustments

  • Repair and/or replace brakes, cams, and wheel seals

  • Restoration of sub-frame and other structural members

  • Diagnose and repair electrical components

  • Gather and record the required parts to perform service on the trailer

  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.


  • Must have related mechanical experience working with suspension, ABS brake systems, wheel and hub replacement, steel and aluminum welding, buck riveting, and diagnostics

  • Must be able to read blueprints and manuals and have general computer knowledge

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must have working knowledge of how trailer is assembled

  • Must have the ability to estimate timelines for repairs and manage time to meet deadlines

  • Must be able to work in a team environment and work well with others

    Equipment Used:

    Overhead crane, welders, torch, forklift, table saw, shag truck, hand tools, air tools.

    Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a standing position and/or walk up to100% of the time.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl around equipment, crawl in and out of tubs and trailers and to work from ladders.

  • Ability to carry objects weighting up to 50 lbs for a distance of 10-50 feet. Objects over 50lbs, use two people.
